48 hours to hustle

There are two kinds of holiday shoppers: the ones who bought, wrapped and shipped their gifts two weeks ago, and the rest of us. For those who fall into the latter category, fear not. We have rounded up the best last-minute gifts for everyone on your list.

It is possible to find something thoughtful at a chain store. Cost Plus World Market offers lots of items for the frequent traveler, including a Thai robe, slippers and sleep mask set for less than $50. We didn’t think it was possible to improve on Kiehl’s lip balm No. 1, but Kiehl’s did with the addition of the new cranberry, pear and mint flavors, packaged in a holiday gift set.

For the Anglophile, the British pharmacy Boots is now stateside, with bath and body gift sets for a steal at CVS and Target stores. And Anthropologie isn’t just for clothes; the retailer has plenty of gift knickknacks, too, including a whimsical owl-shaped tea set that would make anyone smile.

If you want to forgo the mall altogether, head to a neighborhood shopping area, such as Larchmont Boulevard. You can assemble a luxe care package of products at Larchmont Beauty that smell as good as they look, then head next door to the Larchmont General Store to pick up a colorful Vera Bradley bag. Place all the hand-picked beauty products into the patterned cosmetic bag and finish with a bow. It will look as if you’ve been planning it for months.
