What you’ll be talking about: Your childhood reading preferences. Either you loved “Bridge to Terabithia” as a kid or you refused to read it because some kids like books that make them cry and some (like us) don’t. What you should definitely talk about: When Tom Hanks was funny. Remember when Hanks was a comedy guy and life was awesome? Universal Studios Home Entertainment helps you relive the glory days with the release of “Tom Hanks: Comedy Favorites Collection,” a slim boxed set that pulls together “The Money Pit,” “The ‘Burbs” and “Dragnet.” “Steve Martin: The Wild and Crazy Comedy Collection” comes out the same day. (Tuesday)

It’s been a Brit-heavy award season, with Helen Mirren taking home every award in sight, and Judi Dench, Cate Blanchett and Peter O’Toole popping up on magazine covers and late-night talk shows. This weekend, our friends from across the Atlantic return home to accept awards from their own academy of film and television. (Today)

What you’ll want to be talking about: Lucinda Williams. The alt-country queen has been accused of being too country in rock circles and too rock in country circles. But the critics adore her, and they’ve been swooning for weeks over her upcoming album, “West.” (Tuesday)
