Medical pot dispensary near school will close
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A 2-year-old marijuana dispensary in an unincorporated community will close by May because of its proximity to a middle school, a spokesman for Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe said Tuesday.
The site, which is operated by California Medical Caregivers Assn., must close before April 30 because it is less than 1,000 feet from a sensitive location, which according to a county ordinance includes schools, churches and libraries.
It was the first such dispensary to open in an unincorporated area of the county.
