Rose bloom is off without Edwards
KTLA dropping Stephanie Edwards from the Rose Parade is like taking the chocolate out of chocolate cake [“One Less Rose on KTLA’s Parade Float,” by Scott Collins, Dec. 29]. Has station manager Vinnie Malcolm never watched the Rose Parade? For 25-plus years, Stephanie has been the charming one, cracking jokes to Bob Eubanks’ stiff, boring delivery.
Prior to that, the KTLA parade coverage was hosted by Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows. Ever since, Stephanie has been Steve and Bob has been Jayne. Having it hosted by Bob Eubanks and Michaela Pereira is like having it hosted by Jayne Meadows and Jayne Meadows.

I was greatly dismayed by the story that Stephanie Edwards would not be part of the KTLA Rose Parade broadcast this year. If the station was trying to save $50,000, perhaps it should’ve taken up a collection from all the loyal viewers who would have been willing to give money from our own pockets to reverse this poor management decision. Shame on you, KTLA!
