Swearing is a turnoff for this viewer
IN his article “The HBO Gang’s All Here, A&E; Swears (Mildly)” [Jan. 10], Paul Brownfield quotes from a case involving Fox vs. the FCC: “... the attorney for the FCC arguing that children had been exposed to gratuitous use of the F-word....”
Does it ever occur to anyone in the entertainment industry that there’s a vast majority of adults who don’t use the F-word in their everyday language and don’t want to hear it on TV or in movies, or read it in books?
I was looking forward to the series “Deadwood” until I read a review and learned that practically every other word was a cuss word. It’s the reason I never watched “The Sopranos.” Profanity and nudity and watching a woman “pleasure herself” is not my cup of tea.
