BIG WEST CONFERENCE

UC Santa Barbara (12-6, 4-2) at Pacific (7-11, 3-2), 7 -- Freshman guard Justin Joyner, who led Concord De La Salle High to a state title last season, had a breakthrough game for the Gauchos on Thursday, scoring a career-high 15 points and making three of four three-point shots to help the Gauchos end a two-game slide and improve their road record to 7-2. Pacific, the three-time defending Big West champion, has won six straight against Santa Barbara.

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (9-9, 2-4) at Cal State Northridge (10-9, 3-3), 7, FSN Prime Ticket -- The Matadors’ three-game conference winning streak was ended Thursday by Santa Barbara, only their second home loss this season. They made only one of 21 three-point attempts. The Mustangs lost at Pacific on Thursday, ending a season-high three-game win streak.

UC Irvine (10-11, 4-3) at Cal State Fullerton (15-4, 5-2), 6 -- Fullerton has won 10 of its last 12 games and reclaimed a share of first place Thursday when Long Beach State lost to Irvine. Junior Scott Cutley is averaging 24 points and 11.3 rebounds over the last three games for the Titans, who have won their last 14 home games. Irvine has given up only 59.3 points a game over its last nine. This is a rematch of last week’s 71-68 victory by Fullerton on a three-point basket by Frank Robinson with one second left.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE

Loyola Marymount (8-13, 0-5) at Santa Clara (14-6, 4-1), 2 -- The Lions are on an eight-game losing streak that began after leading scorer Brandon Worthy was lost for the season because of a knee injury. They lost their last three games in overtime and have not won a road game since Nov. 29 -- a span of seven games. Santa Clara has won three straight games and four of its last five. The Broncos are 9-3 at home.

Pepperdine (5-16, 1-4) at St. Mary’s (12-9, 4-1), 7, ESPNU -- The Waves ended a six-game losing streak last Saturday with a 57-55 victory over Loyola Marymount. They also ended a 12-game conference losing streak, and it was their first conference road victory in nearly two years. Pepperdine is averaging 10.1 three-point baskets a game, sixth in the nation. The Waves are second in the nation in three-point attempts with 581. St. Mary’s has won three consecutive games.

NONCONFERENCE

UC Davis (4-14) at UC Riverside (3-17), 5 -- The Highlanders’ 15-game losing streak is their longest since Riverside moved to Division I in 2001 and one short of the school record, set in 1954-55. The Highlanders have lost their last three by an average score of 87-57. Davis lost to Fullerton on Thursday, ending its first two-game winning streak of the season.
