3rd suspect is held in freeway killing of boy
Authorities have arrested a third suspect in connection with last month’s shooting death of a 12-year-old Hesperia boy, Gabriel Garcia, on Interstate 15 near Devore.
Saul Juarez, 19, previously of San Bernardino, was arrested on suspicion of murder by Tucson police Sunday morning, according to Cindy Beavers, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Beavers said Juarez will be arraigned in Arizona today.
She said authorities now have in custody all of the suspects they believe were directly involved in the killing, which was apparently related to a botched immigrant-smuggling operation.
Authorities believe that Juarez was one of the gunmen who fired at the car in which the victim was riding.
