Seven is the lucky number
Saturday’s first two races at Hollywood Park run supposedly on the luckiest day of the century produced a winning payoff for those who believe in hunch bets.
Tenga Cat won the first race from the No. 7 post position and Tiz Afire scored again from the No. 7 position in the second race, returning a $13.80 daily double.
Another hunch bet came in the seventh race at seven furlongs. The No. 7 horse, Sportie’s Squeeze, was bet down to 7-2 after being 5-1 on the morning line. He finished sixth, just missing out on a seventh-place finish.
There were two winning pick six tickets that returned $287,589.20.
