A doofus’ big-screen debut; a royal resurgence

Share

You’ll talk about: “The Simpsons Movie.” If this movie is amazing you’ll talk about it, if it’s terrible you’ll talk about it, and you’ll see it either way. (Friday)

You’ll also talk about: HRH Prince. The latest Prince album is called “Planet Earth,” and early reviews have been positive. Prince has been on his game lately with those concerts in Vegas, that amazing Super Bowl performance and that Roosevelt Hotel gig at $3,000-plus a seat. We’re into it! (Tuesday).

You could talk about: Lindsay Lohan’s latest. Lohan has been hibernating in rehab recently, but this week she returns to the spotlight to promote her film “I Know Who Killed Me.” We haven’t seen it, but it looks like a thriller about mistaken identity. More importantly, Lohan pole dances at least a little. Should make a splash! (Friday)

You probably should talk about: “Damages.” We’ve been hearing only good things about FX’s new legal drama starring Glenn Close. It’s consistently described as “gritty.” We tire of the term but intend to check this out anyway. (Tuesday)

No one will talk about: “Who’s Your Caddy?” OutKast’s Big Boi (a.k.a. Antwan Patton) attempts to follow in Ice Cube’s rapper-to-comedy-guy footsteps with this movie about a rapper and his entourage trying to gain entry into a snooty white country club. The movie looks awful, but we like the title and the fact that Jeffrey Jones, the principal in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” plays the bad guy. (Friday)
