Catchmeinyourdreams, who became a millionaire with a victory in his 2007 debut July 5, will try again to win the $164,100 Spencer L. Childers Handicap on Saturday night at Los Alamitos.

A Grade I at 400 yards, the Childers is part of the California Breeders’ Champion program, a series of stakes races restricted to California-breds.

Trained by Christopher O’Dell for owner Kirk Goodfellow, Catchmeinyourdreams, a gelded son of Pritzi Dash, has been second three times in the Childers. Two of the losses came to Be A Bono, who is owned and was bred by Childers.

An 8-year-old bred in Utah, Catchmeinyourdreams has $1,000,274 in earnings after his win by a head in an allowance race in his first start in nearly 10 months. The victory was his 14th in 47 starts.

Among those who will oppose Catchmeinyourdreams, who will be ridden by Jeff Williams, are multiple stakes winner and the 2006 champion aged horse and aged mare Apollitical Time, Los Alamitos Winter Championship winner Volcom and Apollos Favorite.

The richest race of the night is the $400,000 Governor’s Cup Futurity, a Grade I for 2-year-olds at 350 yards.

My Buddie, who is perfect in two starts, was the fastest qualifier for the Futurity, winning his trial with a late surge by a head July 13, running the distance in 17.34 seconds.

Williams will ride the 2-year-old Bono Jazz gelding, who defeated maidens by 4 1/4 lengths in his bow June 21, for owner-breeder Ed Allred and trainer Scott Willoughby.

Directly preceding the Childers and the Futurity is the $170,000 Governor’s Cup Derby, a Grade I for 3-year-olds at 400 yards.

Fdd Dynasty, a son of First Down Dash, will be a solid favorite in the Derby after his two-length win in the trials in the first start of the year for the 2-year-old champion of 2006. A winner of five of seven a year ago, including the Ed Burke Futurity, Fdd Dynasty will be ridden by G.R. Carter.

The other graded races are the $44,300 Jens L. List Jr. Memorial for 3-year-olds at 400 yards, the $44,800 Sprint Stakes for older horses at 350 yards and the $58,400 Matron for older fillies and mares at 400 yards.
