Biggest draw yet for ’08 debates

CNN’s two-hour Democratic debate Sunday drew an average of 2.78 million viewers, the biggest audience yet that has tuned into a 2008 presidential forum.

Moderated by Wolf Blitzer, the debate attracted more viewers than three other presidential hopeful showdowns hosted by MSNBC and Fox News in the last two months.

The CNN forum was held in Manchester, N.H., and co-hosted by WMUR-TV and the New Hampshire Union Leader. By the end of this year, there are expected to be as many as 20 nationally televised debates.
