Police panel is urged to expedite vote on Bratton

The chairman of the City Council’s Public Safety Committee on Thursday called on the Police Commission to expedite a decision on reappointing Police Chief William J. Bratton to another five-year term.
“I believe it is important to end the uncertainty regarding the future of the department’s leadership and bring closure to the appointment process by hearing this matter at the earliest possible time,” Councilman Jack Weiss wrote in a letter to the commission.
