It’s a Hollywood hello to Hillary

At first, it appeared 9. Hillary Rodham Clinton was giving up the Democratic presidential nomination when she attended a “Young Hollywood Reception” on May 30 at Hilhaven Lodge, the Benedict Canyon party house owned by 8. Brett Ratner. But the director cleaned it up for the New York senator, meaning no babes in bikinis by the pool. Instead, he cozied up to Quincy Jones and relied on Clinton to rev up the crowd, which included Chris Klein, the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, Kevin Smith and Michelle Trachtenberg.

‘Grey Anatomy’ cast has a ball

The Sixth Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball on June 2 doubled as a “Grey’s Anatomy” cast party, with McDreamy (a.k.a. Patrick Dempsey) and McSteamy (otherwise known as Eric Dane) posing for pics and Kate Walsh and Ellen Pompeo chattering away. Perhaps they were discussing wedding plans? Or better yet: contract renegotiations. Looks like T.R. Knight was listening -- he just signed a sweet deal. Dane’s wife, 10. Rebecca Gayheart, right, with Pompeo, co-chaired the event, which raised funds to help the economically disadvantaged land jobs. Honoree Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige belted out tunes, while Tom Cruise, who presented an award to his agent, Rick Hess, showed a talent for evading paparazzi. Although without Katie or Suri around, it was a far less impressive feat.

Gals modeled dresses, the guys traded kisses

For her last pre-prison outing, Paris Hilton appropriately chose to wear black to the MTV Movie Awards on June 3 at Gibson Amphitheatre. After enduring jokes at her expense from host Sarah Silverman, the heiress was off to the Big House. But everything looked rosy for 5. Mandy Moore, who got a peck from Sacha Baron Cohen after presenting him with his popcorn trophy. That was nothing compared to the smooch he laid on Will Ferrell after they snagged best-kiss honors. Also turning red: 6. presenter Jessica Alba and 7. Amy Smart.

A Broadway musical for all Four Seasons

Bruce Springsteen? Tony Soprano? Fugghedaboutit! The original “Jersey Boys”: the Four Seasons. The much-lauded musical about Frankie Valli and the ‘60s chart-toppers opened its three-month run at the Ahmanson Theatre on June 3 to a crowd that included a press-shy Eddie Murphy with a four-person posse, Geena Davis and hubby Dr. Reza Jarrahy, Aaron Sorkin and Jason Alexander, who brought his teenage son, Gabe. “Jersey” boy 11. Christopher Kale Jones, right, celebrated with Valli, middle, and co-star Erich Bergen at the after-party at the Plaza at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. But perhaps Jones, who portrays the lead singer, was merely doing research. Same goes for 12. Deven May, left, who already seems to have nailed Tommy DeVito’s smile.
