Academy Award-winning director James Cameron will partner with Interscope Geffen A&M; Records (home of Dr. Dre, Eminem, U2, Gwen Stefani, 50 Cent, the Pussycat Dolls and many others) to produce 3-D presentations of music videos, concerts, commercials and stage musicals using the Fusion digital stereo camera system developed by Cameron with Vincent Pace. Cameron, whose 3-D sci-fi feature film “Avatar” is set for a 2009 release in specially equipped theaters, will provide 3-D production expertise as well as proprietary equipment, while Interscope will offer its artists and music know-how. The first 3-D concert is expected to be released theatrically within six months; merchandising will include 3-D glasses designed by music artists.
