Pro basketball: An item in Sunday’s Sports section incorrectly reported that NBA players are suspended one game when they reach 16 technical fouls in a season and one game for every subsequent technical foul. After the suspension for the 16th technical foul, players are suspended one game for every other technical foul from that point on.

A player is automatically suspended for one game when he receives his 16th technical foul and suspended for one game for every one afterward.

Before that rule, Wallace set a league record with 41 technical fouls during the 2000-01 season.

O’Neal joined an even more select group in becoming the fourth player to surpass 25,000 points and win at least four NBA titles, with Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan and John Havlicek being the others.
