Want tickets? May the force be with you.

“Star Wars” will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special screening April 23 at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

The evening kicks off the academy’s fourth annual “Great to Be Nominated” series, which showcases best picture Oscar nominees that garnered the most nominations in a particular year but didn’t win in the top category. “Star Wars” was nominated for 10 Academy Awards and won six, plus a special achievement award, but lost the best picture Oscar to Woody Allen’s comedy “Annie Hall.”

George Lucas and others involved in the film are scheduled to be on hand for a post-film panel discussion. Tickets go on sale April 9. Information: (310) 247-3600 or www.oscars.org.
