Four people were arrested on suspicion of helping orchestrate the killings of three Salvadoran politicians and their driver, Guatemalan Interior Minister Carlos Vielmann said.
The suspects were identified as Mario Javier Lemus Escobar, Obdulio Waldemar de Leon Lemus, Carlos Orellana Donis and Linda Castillo Orellana. They were arrested in Jalpatagua.
Officials have also identified seven national police officers as suspects. Four were killed in prison under circumstances that remain murky. One officer is in custody, and two remain at large.
