A former Orange County sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in federal prison Thursday for having about 1 million images and videos of child pornography on his home computer and compact discs.
Patrick Francis Calcagno, 49, of Murrieta pleaded guilty in July to one count of possessing child pornography. The material was discovered by federal investigators searching his home in 2004.
Calcagno, who left the Sheriff’s Department in March 2006, was one of more than 1,200 people targeted worldwide after authorities dismantled a Belarus-based Internet pornography provider.
