Three down, Stars rally in shootout win

Jere Lehtinen scored the only shootout goal in the seventh round, and the Dallas Stars rallied from a three-goal deficit to beat the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-3, Saturday night at Glendale, Ariz.

Marty Turco made 24 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped all seven shootout tries he faced for the Stars, who pulled even with San Jose for second place in the Pacific Division.

Nashville 4, Edmonton 0 -- Tomas Vokoun made 26 saves for his fifth shutout this season to help the visiting Predators end a two-game skid.

Carolina 6, San Jose 4 -- The host Hurricanes improved to 5-1-1 in their last seven games. Carolina has 84 points and remains tied with Montreal for the eighth and final position in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Montreal 4, Washington 1 -- Alex Kovalev had his first two-goal game this season and the Canadiens won their sixth game in a row at home.

Toronto 4, Buffalo 1 -- Darcy Tucker scored twice, and the host Maple Leafs rebounded to earn a split of a home-and-home series with the Sabres.

Ottawa 7, Tampa Bay 2 -- In a home loss, Vincent Lecavalier had two assists to become the first Lightning player to reach 100 points in a season.

New Jersey 4, Florida 3 -- Travis Zajac scored the winning goal in a shootout at Sunrise, Fla., and the Devils ended a season-high, three-game losing streak.

New York Rangers 2, Boston 1 -- Thomas Pock scored with 1 minute 40 seconds left to send the game into overtime at Boston, and the Rangers won it in a shootout.

New York Islanders 4, Philadelphia 3 -- Andy Hilbert scored the decisive goal for the visiting Islanders with less than five minutes remaining.

St. Louis 3, Detroit 2 -- Doug Weight scored the only goal in the shootout at Detroit -- with the help of a replay review.

Pittsburgh 2, Atlanta 1 -- Jordan Staal and Michel Ouellet scored for the host Penguins, who ended a two-game losing streak.
