* at Atlanta 5, Philadelphia 2: Andruw Jones hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning against Antonio Alfonseca. The Braves’ Tim Hudson, pitching the day after his college teammate Josh Hancock and his grandmother died, gave up four hits in eight innings.
* Florida 9, at New York 6: Hanley Ramirez homered and Miguel Cabrera drove in two runs for the Marlins, who scored five runs in the third inning.
* Washington 3, at San Diego 2: John Patterson gave up one run in six innings to outpitch Jake Peavy and get his first win in more than a year. Peavy, who struck out 16 in his previous start, had 10 strikeouts in seven innings.
* at Pittsburgh 3, Chicago 2: Jason Bay hit a one-out homer in the eighth inning, and the Pirates came back from a two-run deficit to beat the Cubs.
* at San Francisco 9, Colorado 5: Pedro Feliz hit a three-run home run in a five-run first inning for the Giants.
* at Milwaukee 7, St. Louis 1: Former Cardinal Jeff Suppan gave up eight hits in the 16th complete game of his career.
* Arizona 9, at Dodgers 1: Dodgers starters haven’t won a game since Randy Wolf beat the Pirates on April 20.
