Expect the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ gig Saturday at the Henry Fonda Theater to be extra special.

The show benefits the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a nonprofit founded in 2001 by Peppers bassist Flea to put music into the lives of local kids.

It also features a performance by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam as well as appearances by other celebrity guests. Students from the conservatory will also perform.

“I did band, choir, everything, but when I went back to the school years later I found out the programs were gone,” said Flea, who attended Fairfax High. “I was shocked. I decided on the spot to do something.”

Proceeds will raise money toward scholarships, the expansion of a summer camp and a permanent home.

Tickets, available at www.silverlakeconservatory.com, are $250, and VIP passes are $500 and include a post-show rooftop party with a performance by Mickey Avalon.
