* Houston 7, at Cincinnati 6: Lance Berkman’s home run overshadowed the 568th of Ken Griffey Jr.’s career and gave him 14 at Great American Ball Park, the most by any opponent. Griffey is one home run behind Rafael Palmeiro for ninth place on the all-time list.

* at Arizona 3, Philadelphia 2: The Diamondbacks’ Eric Byrnes hit a 473-foot home run, tying for the second-longest homer in Chase Field’s 10-year history, and Tony Clark hit a 457-foot shot in the seventh inning.

* Pittsburgh 4, at Chicago 3: Jack Wilson hit his first sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to tie the score and hit a second one with the bases loaded in the 15th to lift the Pirates. Ryan Theriot had three hits and drove in two runs for the Cubs, who lost for the second time in 10 games and whose five-game winning streak ended.

* at Atlanta 3, San Diego 2: Andruw Jones ended an 0-for-21 slump with two hits, including an eighth-inning single that drove in the go-ahead run. He doubled in the sixth inning to drive in the Braves’ first run.

* at St. Louis 4, Colorado 1: Pinch-hitter Scott Spiezio and Adam Kennedy each drove in two runs in a four-run seventh inning for the Cardinals.

* at Milwaukee 6, Washington 4: Prince Fielder hit a three-run homer and J.J. Hardy homered to extend his hitting streak to 19 games for the Brewers, winners of five games in a row. The Nationals have lost seven consecutive games.

* New York 4, at San Francisco 1: Tom Glavine won his 294th game despite giving up Barry Bonds’ 745th home run.

* at Florida 6, Dodgers 5: Miguel Cabrera singled home the winning run with one out in the ninth inning.
