Weiss’ opponents plan news conference today

Angry Westside residents who have been threatening for months to launch a recall attempt on Los Angeles City Councilman Jack Weiss issued a news release Monday that said they would make an announcement today.

But they did not say what they were announcing. The release also touted the group’s recently unveiled website but failed to disclose any names of the group members or even the location of the news conference.

Weiss’ political consultant, Larry Levine, declined to comment because no official recall attempt has been filed.
