Malcolm McDowell, 64, is no stranger to movie and TV fans, but if you haven’t witnessed the majesty of “A Clockwork Orange” (in which he plays the original punk rocker) and “O Lucky Man!,” you’re in for a treat: Warner Bros. Home Video has re-released them in deluxe editions. “I consider ‘O Lucky Man!,’ in particular, to be my finest work,” McDowell says. He lives in Santa Monica and Ojai with his wife, Kelley Kuhr, and their sons, Beckett, 3, and Finn, 10 months.

OJAI OH! On a Saturday or Sunday my wife and I might drive up the coast for golfing at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. I’m nuts about golf, and it has one of the most beautiful courses around. It was designed in the 1920s by George C. Thomas Jr., and walking around reminds me of what that era must have been like in Southern California. Kelly will head for the spa, and then we’ll meet up later for lunch on the terrace. Before heading back, we always stop at Bart’s Books, one of my favorite bookstores. TREASURE HUNT If we stay in town, we’ll go antiquing, looking for jewelry, furniture -- really anything and everything. We like the Antiquarious Center on Beverly and Nathan Turner in West Hollywood. There are some good spots along Melrose and in Pasadena too. SPEAKING OF ANTIQUES Beckett’s favorite place -- Dinosaur Farm -- is in South Pasadena. If you have a child around his age you know what I’m talking about when it comes to dinosaurs. It’s the best toy store in the world. A SPOT OF TEA I once stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Pasadena while making a movie, and fondly remember sipping English Breakfast tea by their pool in the morning. That was perfect . . . . For lunch I might head to Ago on Melrose. I used to have a place in Tuscany and fell in love with the food, and Ago reminds me of being back there. The staff is as lovely as the food . . . . For a special dinner, we go to Michael’s in Santa Monica. The fish is wonderful, the pasta excellent and there’s the beautiful garden. But this is if we don’t have the kids. With them, it’s the Urth Caffe on Main Street. That’s much more their style.
