FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Taylor Twellman scored in the 64th minute to help the New England Revolution beat the New York Red Bulls, 1-0, Saturday night and reach the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference finals for the sixth consecutive season.

After opening the two-game, total-goals series with a 0-0 tie Oct. 27 in East Rutherford, N.J., New England finished off New York to set up the conference finals against the Chicago Fire.

The first half at Gillette Stadium was played in driving rain and strong wind.

New York lost scoring leader Juan Pablo Angel because of a concussion after a collision with Revolution defender Jay Heaps in the 56th minute.

Twellman ran down the left wing and converted a cross from MLS assists leader Steve Ralston for the goal.
