A BRUSH WITH DIVINE STUFF

Share
Times Staff Writer

When Divine Design began to raise funds for AIDS patients nearly 15 years ago, Donna Karan and Calvin Klein showed up at the Pacific Design Center to help shoppers try on jackets and suits. Many years later, the big-name designers are no longer on hand to button you up, but the charity shopping event is still an annual treat. This year, shoppers will be able to paw through donated clothing and accessories from Jean Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Monique Lhuillier, Chado Ralph Rucci and others for men, women and children. There will also be furniture, toys and beauty products. Starting at 50% off retail, prices continue to plunge over the four-day event, and 100% of the profits go to Project Angel Food, a nonprofit group that provides meals and nutritional counseling to people with life-threatening illnesses. Plan ahead for the marathon event; last year people started lining up at 6:30 a.m. on opening day, and 10,000 shoppers showed up over the four days.

Friday through Monday, 9900 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills. (323) 845-1800. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday. More information: www.divinedesign.org
