Official seeks suspension of executions

Atty. Gen. Drew Edmondson asked the state Court of Criminal Appeals not to set any more execution dates until the U.S. Supreme Court rules on a challenge to the lethal injection method.
The high court said last week that it would hear an appeal from two death row inmates from Kentucky to decide whether the commonly used lethal injection method violates the constitutional ban on cruel and unusual punishment.
