‘Jesus’ is No. 1 for Kid Rock

Kid Rock scores his first No. 1 album more than 15 years into his career with “Rock N Roll Jesus,” which sold 172,000 copies in its first week in stores. But this week’s U.S. pop chart may be more notable for what’s missing than what’s there, as Radiohead’s pay-what-you-want Web-release “In Rainbows” was not submitted to the Nielsen SoundScan sales monitoring service, which collects the data used to determine chart positions.

No official sales numbers have been released for “In Rainbows,” but those in the music industry keep citing a download number of about 1.3 million. That figure, however, is worldwide, and doesn’t distinguish between those who paid and those who snagged it free.

Kid Rock pushes Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band’s “Magic” down to No. 2. The album moved 133,000 copies in its second week.

LeAnn Rimes returns to the Top 10 with her first album in two years, “Family,” which bows at No. 4 after selling 74,000 copies.

Jennifer Lopez’s music career hits a bit of a low: Her latest, “Brave,” lands at No. 12 after selling 53,000 copies. Going back to 1999, each of her studio efforts has debuted inside the Top 10.
