NO RULES, JUST RIGHT

THE spectacle that is Fashion Week in L.A. brought eye-popping dance performances, colorful after-parties and a just-gotta-be-me attitude that seemed perfectly at home in this most lawless of fashion cities.

Who said it’s all about what’s on the runway? Certainly not Clint Catalyst, who turned heads with his miniature top hat on opening night at BOXeight downtown. Three days later, Jeff Carillo did the same with his “no-hawk,” a ‘do that gives new meaning to “receding hairline.” There were celebrities too, of course, and perhaps none as surprising as Bobby Brown, who slipped into the second row at the Cosa Nostra show with two female companions -- a day after he reportedly suffered a heart attack.

“Don’t you worry about me,” said Brown, looking natty in a pullover, cap and red slacks. “You know I’m always OK.”
