* Detroit 6, at Oakland 1: Justin Verlander struck out 10 and outpitched Dan Haren in their third matchup of 2007, and Curtis Granderson homered, doubled and scored three runs to lead the Tigers.

* at Toronto 2, Seattle 1: Troy Glaus singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and the Blue Jays handed the Mariners their season-high eighth loss in a row. Dustin McGowan (9-8) won for the first time in five starts.

* at Cleveland 7, Chicago 0: Paul Byrd pitched a four-hit shutout, and the Indians won their eighth in a row. Byrd (14-5) has won his last four starts and seven of his last eight decisions. It was his fifth career shutout. The winning streak is the Indians’ longest since they won nine in a row in 2005. Cleveland is also a season-high 21 games over .500 (78-57).

* at Minnesota 6, Kansas City 4: Mike Redmond hit a two-run double and Joe Nathan got the last four outs for his 29th save in 31 attempts. Carlos Silva (11-13) was hit hard in a two-run fourth, but he survived and struck out four while giving up eight hits and three runs without a walk in six innings.

* at New York 9, Tampa Bay 6: Alex Rodriguez hit his major league-leading 45th homer in the first inning, a two-run shot off Edwin Jackson (4-13). The two-time MVP added a two-run double in the fourth.

* at Boston 10, Baltimore 0: Clay Buchholz pitched the third no-hitter of the season -- following Mark Buehrle of the Chicago White Sox against Texas on April 18 and Justin Verlander of Detroit against Milwaukee on June 12.

* Texas 7, at Angels 6: The Angels remained 6 1/2 games ahead of the Mariners in the AL West.
