Cleveland 7, at Minnesota 5 (11 innings): Travis Hafner hit two home runs and the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the 11th inning. Franklin Gutierrez led off the inning with a walk from Julio DePaula (0-1). Hafner hit a two-run shot off Minnesota closer Joe Nathan to tie the score, 5-5, with two out in the ninth inning, helping the Indians win for the 10th time in 11 games and increase their lead over Detroit in the American League Central to a season-high seven games.

at Boston 5, Toronto 3: Josh Beckett won his 17th game and rookie Jacoby Ellsbury had three hits for the Red Sox. Ellsbury homered after Coco Crisp barely beat out the relay to stay out of a double play and avoid the third out in the fourth inning. Ellsbury also tripled and singled.

at Texas 9, Kansas City 8: Ian Kinsler raced home with the go-ahead run on a throwing error in the seventh inning. Kinsler went three for three with two RBIs and scored two runs for Texas, which won for the eighth time in 10 games.

Chicago 3, at Detroit 1: Josh Fields and Alex Cintron homered, and Jon Garland scattered seven hits over seven innings. Garland (9-10) ran his career record to 13-6 against the Tigers.

Baltimore 8, at Tampa Bay 4: Melvin Mora drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and Ramon Hernandez followed with a three-run double. It was Baltimore’s second win in 14 games, and the Orioles have been outscored, 132-64, in that stretch.

at New York 12, Seattle 3: Chien-Ming Wang got his 17th win and Jorge Posada homered twice for the Yankees.

at Angels 4, Oakland 3: Garret Anderson and Howie Kendrick hit two-run homers and the Angels padded their lead in the AL West to 7 1/2 games over Seattle.
