Bemz has IKEA covered

Doing one better than IKEA? Perhaps. Bemz, a Swedish design firm, now offers slipcovers designed to fit many of the most popular upholstered pieces from IKEA. The easy-to-navigate website www.bemz.com allows U.S. customers to view nearly 100 slipcover swatches that can be tailored to fit two dozen sofas and armchairs. Most are clean, bold and modernist in 100% cotton. Others, including designs by midcentury illustrator Stig Lindberg and a collection inspired by 18th century Swedish floral prints, are a blend of linen and cotton. The Urban Tapestry slipcover shown here in jet black on IKEA’s Karlanda chair is $147.
