SALZBURG, Austria -- Anze Kopitar scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal, Tuesday to help the Kings rally for a 7-6 victory over EC Red Bull Salzburg in an exhibition tournament.

The Red Bulls, who are the defending Austrian champions, went ahead, 3-0, in the opening four minutes, chasing starting goaltender Jason LaBarbera, who faced only six shots.

That lead didn’t last long, however.

Michael Cammalleri, the Kings’ top scorer last season, newcomer Ladislav Nagy, a free agent the Kings signed during the off-season, and Kopitar evened the score within 10 minutes.

Kopitar, who grew up in Jesenice, Slovenia, only a few hours from Salzburg and thus had numerous friends and family in the sold-out arena, added another goal on a power play later in the period.

The Kings’ Derek Armstrong scored on a penalty shot, and Nagy and Kopitar secured victory for the Kings in the final 10 minutes.

Cammalleri finished with a goal and two assists and Nagy with two goals.

The Kings will face Farjestads BK for the tournament championship today after Farjestads overcame HC Davos in a shootout.

The Kings then travel to London, where they open the NHL season this weekend with a two-game series against the Stanley Cup champion Ducks. Both games are at 9 a.m. PDT.

The Ducks arrived in London on Tuesday and have scheduled a practice for today.

The Kings assigned center Jeff Giuliano to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.

The move brings the club roster down to 25 players. The league limit is 23.
