76ers have beaten odds
As a reward for defeating Detroit in Game 1, the Philadelphia 76ers have been made 10-point underdogs for tonight’s Game 2 of their first-round NBA playoff series.
For Philadelphia supporters, that may be good news based on the recent play of the 76ers, who have excelled when they’ve been counted out.
Philadelphia is 4-0 against the spread in its last four road games against a team with a winning percentage greater than .600, and 10-3 against the line in its last 13 road games overall.
Experienced NBA bettors should not have been surprised by the 76ers’ strong effort in Game 1. That’s because since the end of last season, Philadelphia is 5-1 against the spread in its last six games against the Pistons.
And the Pistons are 0-5 against the spread in their last five playoff games when they have been a favorite of five points or more.
