* Arizona 2, at San Diego 1: Brandon Webb outpitched Jake Peavy in a battle of the last two NL Cy Young Award winners. Webb (6-0), the 2006 Cy Young winner, allowed one unearned run and twice escaped bases-loaded jams before leaving after six innings. Chris Snyder hit a two-out home run in the second after Peavy walked Stephen Drew. Peavy (3-1) gave up four hits in seven innings.

* at St. Louis 5, Houston 1: Troy Glaus hit his first home run with the Cardinals and Albert Pujols also homered. Glaus’ drive was the first in nine games for the Cardinals and scored Ryan Ludwick, who doubled in Rick Ankiel and Pujols to put St. Louis up, 2-1. Pujols homered in the seventh.

* Cincinnati 10, at San Francisco 1: Edinson Volquez (4-0) struck out a career-high 10 in seven innings, Brandon Phillips homered twice and the Reds roughed up Barry Zito (0-1). Volquez allowed one run and five hits to win his third straight start. Zito was booed frequently.

* at New York 6, Atlanta 3: Carlos Delgado turned boos into a standing ovation with his first two-homer game since May 29. Delgado, who came into the game in a three-for-34 slump, went two for two with two walks. Mets starter Nelson Figueroa (2-1) allowed seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.

* Florida 3, at Milwaukee 2 (10): Wes Helms, playing for injured first baseman Mike Jacobs, came through in only his fourth start of the year, hitting a solo home run leading off the 10th inning to lift the Marlins. Helms went three for five and drove in a pair of runs.

* at Pittsburgh 5, Philadelphia 1: Paul Maholm tossed a two-hitter, Nate McLouth hit two home runs and the Pirates avoided a three-game sweep. Maholm (2-2) walked four and struck out two in his third career complete game.

* at Washington 2, Chicago 0: John Lannan (2-2) pitched four-hit ball for seven innings and Wily Mo Pena and Wil Nieves had back-to-back RBI singles for the Nationals.

* at Dodgers 3, Colorado 2 (10): L.A. earned its first three-game winning streak under Manager Joe Torre.
