* at Arizona 5, Houston 3: Dan Haren pitched into the eighth inning and hit a run-scoring double for the Diamondbacks, who improved their major league-leading record to 19-7. The Astros have lost three straight after a season-best six-game winning streak.
* at San Francisco 4, Colorado 0: Giants Manager Bruce Bochy moved past former San Francisco skipper Felipe Alou for most victories by a foreign-born manager in major league history with 1,034.
* Pittsburgh at New York, ppd, rain: The game was postponed by rain and rescheduled for Aug. 11.
