FBI ups reward in bombing attacks
The FBI said Tuesday it would contribute $20,000 to the reward offered in bombing attacks against two UC Santa Cruz researchers, pushing the total to $50,000.
Authorities are searching for whoever bombed the home and a car Saturday belonging to two UC scientists who use animals in their research. One researcher, his wife and two small children escaped their home by climbing out a second story window and down an emergency ladder.
The attacks have been widely condemned by academics and university officials who said the perpetrators were trying to intimidate scientists into abandoning their research.
