Careless with police manpower

Re “ Police plan raises fears on Westside,” Dec. 2

Moving officers from West L.A. and other areas to open a new station in Koreatown is emblematic of the shortsightedness our city officials call “planning.” It’s much like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

If we need more police stations, hire the police to fill them or don’t build and open them in the first place.

Tim Rutten should get out of his 1960s foxhole. Just answer the question: Are we paying more and getting less for our money or not? Or does Rutten believe “to each according to his needs, from each according to his ability to pay?”
