Tony Dungy has been playing season finales according to the script for years.

He has rarely seen it executed so perfectly.

Indianapolis got those pesky milestones out of the way quickly, yanked its starters early and still managed to win its ninth straight game, beating AFC South champion Tennessee, 23-0.

It marked the sixth straight season the Colts (12-4) have won at least 12 games.

Quarterback Peyton Manning reached 4,000 yards passing for a ninth straight season, three more than Dan Marino’s previous NFL mark.

Marvin Harrison moved into second place on the all-time receptions list with 1,102, and Dallas Clark broke John Mackey’s single-season franchise record for most yards receiving by a tight end, a mark that had stood since 1966.

The Titans (13-3) used most of their starters sparingly, after locking up the AFC’s No. 1 seeding last week.

Quoteworthy: “I like where we are, and I think we’ll be ready next week.” -- Tony Dungy, Colts coach
