Re “Garbage in, garbage out,” editorial, Feb. 2

Your editorial on the Los Angeles Unified School District’s payroll software is right on the money. Although L.A. Unified management should shoulder part of the blame, the greater responsibility for the fiasco rightly belongs to Deloitte Consulting, as it should have known better than to implement such a large change without any productive parallel runs.

May all organizations, especially government ones, be forewarned about contracting the services of Dolittle and Torched, er, Deloitte and Touche.
