BRUSHING UP

Share

Soft-spoken Victor Sepulveda (pictured) began air-brushing T-shirts at a South L.A. swap meet at the tender age of 19. His soaring artistic ambition and pride in his Mexican roots led him to tackle lowriders, the ideal canvas for his lively representations of Aztec icons and barrio culture. Although the airbrush is a complex tool, Sepulveda is confident his pupils at the Petersen Automotive Museum’s Family Fun Shop: Airbrushing workshop will easily adapt. “It’s a little tricky because you’re doing two things with one finger,” he says. “But younger kids actually have a quicker grasp on things. Hopefully they’ll have fun learning a new skill and get interested in making more art.” 2 p.m. Sat. 6060 Wilshire Blvd., Miracle Mile. $20 adult/child pair. (323) 964-6308; www.petersen.org
