GOING PLACES

Broadway star Angela Christian (pictured) finds herself snowed in with a gaggle of small- town diner patrons in William Inge’s “Bus Stop” at the Rubicon Theatre. While her character Cherie tries to escape the misguided affection of a lovesick cowboy, Christian herself enjoys her detour in L.A. The long drives give her time to think, she says, and with the “balmy, buttery and beautiful weather out here” she can even put her hand out the window -- “stuff you can’t do in New York.” Opens 7 p.m. Sat.; runs 2 and 7 p.m. Wed., 8 p.m. Thu.-Fri., 2 p.m. Sat. and Sun., ends Mar. 16. 1006 E. Main St., Ventura. $29-$52. (805) 667-2900; www. rubicontheatre.org
