at Philadelphia 5, Florida 3: Daniel Briere scored twice, Kimmo Timonen had a goal and two assists and the Flyers denied Panthers Coach Jacques Martin his 500th win. Martin, looking to become the 10th coach in NHL history to win 500 games, won No. 499 on Jan. 10 at Atlanta, but Florida has lost three in a row since.

at N.Y. Rangers 2, Buffalo 1: Petr Prucha and Brandon Dubinsky each had a goal and an assist as the Rangers stretched the Sabres’ losing streak to 10 games.
