Teen is sought in shooting of man
Police are looking for a teenager who shot a man twice after he refused to give the gunman a cigarette and a dollar.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department said the victim, a Bay Point resident in his 40s, was walking near a shopping center in an unincorporated area of the county early Monday when he came upon five male teenagers.
One of the teens asked the man for a cigarette and a dollar. When the man said he didn’t have either, the boy, described as about 16 years old, shot him, authorities said. The man was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
