So where has ‘Lost’ been?

You will talk about: Two hours of “Lost.” We gave up on ABC’s “Lost” a few years ago when we began to doubt that the show would ever end, but now that an end date has been picked (2009), we’re willing to give it a go again. This week’s two-hour premiere should be a good place to start -- the “Lost” ones get found, except their finders are apparently trying to kill them. Twists and turns upon curves and labyrinths -- that’s the “Lost” way. (Thursday)

You could talk about: “Over Her Dead Body.” We’ve watched the trailer for this comedy starring Paul Rudd, Eva Longoria and Lake Bell three times and are still feeling undecided about its potential merits. We’re not feeling the premise -- the ghost of Rudd’s character’s dead fiancee (Longoria) stalks his new psychic girlfriend (Bell) -- but Rudd’s pretty awesomely funny. (Friday)

You should talk about: Rock music for the genders. This week brings new albums from two great and very different bands -- the loud, heavy and hairy Mars Volta and the sweet indie pop boys of Vampire Weekend. Mars Volta is more of an acquired taste, but there’s nothing not to like about Vampire Weekend (except possibly its name). Check them out. (Tuesday)

We suppose you could talk about: “Eli Stone.” The press release for ABC’s new show about a high-powered lawyer who changes his life after suffering from a series of hallucinations has all sorts of unexpected words in it, including “prophet,” “acupuncturist” and “crooning visions of George Michael.” It’s just nonsensical enough to pique our curiosity. You might want to talk about: “Damages.” Scripted television is looking a bit less bleak these days with the return of “Lost” and the “Lipstick Jungle”/”Cashmere Mafia” battle, but to fill the gap in your TiVo, you might consider buying (or Netflixing) the first season of “Damages,” a criminal drama starring Glenn Close, out this week. (Tuesday)
