Northridge uses balanced attack to rout Long Beach

Deon Tresvant scored 19 points to lead five Cal State Northridge players in double figures in a 100-61 rout of Long Beach State on Saturday night in a Big West Conference game at Northridge.

Jayme Miller had 18 points and nine rebounds, Calvin Chitwood scored 14 and freshman Lauren Heard scored 13 for the conference-leading Matadors (14-4, 6-0). Josh Jenkins had a career-high 11 assists for the Matadors.

Donovan Morris scored 25 points and Brice Gallow had a career-high 17 for the 49ers (4-14, 1-5).

The Matadors held the 49ers without a basket for the final seven minutes of the first half in taking a 47-26 halftime lead, and led by as many as 41 in the second half.

UC Irvine 67, UC Riverside 53 -- Patrick Sanders scored 21 points to lead the Anteaters (8-11, 3-3 Big West) over the Highlanders (4-14, 1-6), who are 0-10 on the road.

Darren Fells had 16 points and five rebounds and Michael Hunter added 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocks for the Anteaters.

UC Riverside tied the score at 37-37 with 15:34 left, but four points from Sanders and a Brett Lauer three-pointer helped the Anteaters pull away.

UC Santa Barbara 60, UC Davis 45 -- Alex Harris keyed a late first-half surge with a three-point basket to help the Gauchos (15-5, 4-3 Big West) get past the Aggies (8-12, 2-5), who fell to 1-10 on the road.

The Gauchos led, 13-9, with less than five minutes to go in the first half when Harris scored. He finished with 14 points

Pepperdine 87, Loyola Marymount 64 -- Malcolm Thomas scored 18 points and blocked five shots at Malibu and the Waves won for the first time under interim head coach Eric Bridgeland.

Rico Tucker and Ryan Holmes scored 15 points apiece for the Waves (7-14, 1-4 West Coast Conference), who ended a four-game losing streak.

Orlando Johnson had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Shawn Deadwiler also scored 17 for the Lions (4-17, 1-4), losers of 10 of 11.
