A DIFFERENT SPIN INDEED

I am a dutiful recycler and a lifelong record collector. In “Underrated/Overrrated” [June 26] and on the Soundboard blog, the minuscule percentage of your readership who purchase vinyl LPs was warned of the supposedly deleterious health risks associated with these products, as well as the ecologically unsound means by which they are manufactured.

In light of how frequently fast-talking telemarketers employed by The Times attempt to cajole me into accepting daily home delivery of a newspaper generally composed of 5% information and 95% waste, and how much pleasure may be derived from listening to expertly recorded, soulfully performed music contained in artfully designed packaging, such assertions are abjectly hypocritical.
