Carona’s ‘sin’
Re “Tapes of ex-O.C. sheriff contain racial, sexist slurs,” July 3
There is a great sin infecting the soul of former Orange County Sheriff Michael S. Carona. It’s called betrayal of trust. If the allegations against Carona are true, his irresponsible conduct points to a lack of moral character. Carona blatantly betrayed his oath of office, his wife, his mistress, his constituents and, above all, himself. The credibility of elected officials must always be beyond reproach. Hobnobbing with billionaires, ranting racist and sexist slurs and bragging about sexual conquests is unworthy of the former Orange County “top cop.” Carona must take full responsibility for his flawed character.
