at Cleveland 5, Tampa Bay 0: Cliff Lee (12-2) tied the Angels’ Joe Saunders for the league lead in wins while lowering his earned-run average to 2.31. The Indians beat the Rays in Cleveland for the 11th consecutive time since Sept. 29, 2005.

Baltimore 7, at Boston 3: The Orioles ended a five-game losing streak by handing the Red Sox a rare home loss. Clay Buchholz, who retired only one of the first five batters he faced, gave up four runs and five hits in five innings. The Red Sox (34-11) have the best home record in the league.

Minnesota 3, at Detroit 2: Glen Perkins left after giving up the Tigers’ second run in the bottom of the seventh. Jesse Crain, Matt Guerrier and Joe Nathan retired the next seven batters -- three on strikeouts.

at Texas 7, Chicago 2: Josh Hamilton drove in two more runs. Hamilton, who has driven in 11 runs over his last seven games, leads the majors with 93 RBIs. Jim Thome hit his 524th career homer in the seventh for the White Sox, who had won 11 of 14.

at Kansas City 3, Seattle 1: Luke Hochevar limited the Mariners to four singles the first six innings, before Adrian Beltre opened the seventh with a double. Beltre went to third on a ground out and scored on Miguel Cario’s grounder to short for the only Seattle run.

at Toronto 5, New York 0: Roy Halladay held the Yankees to two hits in pitching his major league-leading seventh complete game.

at Oakland 9, Angels 2: Jon Garland lasted 2 2/3 innings in his shortest outing since going the same distance against Seattle on Aug. 19, 2007. Three of his six losses this season are to the A’s, who are 11-4 against him.
