One small ‘Step’ for the street dancing kind

Fans of MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” can talk about: “Step Up 2 the Streets.” If you were too ashamed to see it in theaters, it’s now available on DVD. Not only is it 10 times better than the first movie, the dancing and music are totally wack.

Celebrate the summer by talking about: The Hold Steady’s “Stay Positive.” The Brooklyn rock band’s fourth release encourages all of the things that the heat somehow makes excusable. Shouts the angry mob chorus on “Constructive Summer”: “Get hammered!” (Tuesday)

Lucky ticket holders can talk about: Coldplay at the Forum. It might be sold out already, but those attending, take note: We’ve seen the band’s shows before, and we wouldn’t be shocked to see Chris Martin just up and fly off stage. No, like really levitate. Without the harness. (Monday and Tuesday)

The Broadway curious will want to talk about the CD of: “Passing Strange.” It’s not your mother’s musical theater. We’re not sure that anyone will be talking about: “Space Chimps.” Haven’t heard of it? If you cursed ABBA the first time around, you won’t be talking about: “Mamma Mia!” The group’s tunes have already inspired one winning comedy in 1994’s “Muriel’s Wedding.” Throw in Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, and I don’t know anyone who won’t be charmed by “Dancing Queen.” (Friday)
